The Power of Friendship

"Show me your friend, and I'll tell you who you are." I'm sure most of us are conversant with this saying. Indeed, the kind of friends you keep today, would determine the kind of person you'd be tomorrow. This is how deep, peer pressure or an influence, a friend can have on you. This influence, if negative, can destroy you. If you keep good friends, you're likely to be influenced into doing, and being good.

That's why it's advisable to choose your friends wisely. If you'd love to grow into a responsible and successful adult, make friends with responsible people who have the same mindset and dreams as yours. This is because the mind is easily impressionable. What we watch, listen to, or read, impress themselves on our mind, and we inturn, acts on them subconsciously. For, what we think, we act. Let's be guided.

Aside that, another powerful thing about friendship; true friendship, is that it stands the test of time. Like the saying; "a friend in need is a friend indeed!" A friend is someone whom you can fall back to when in need of help; a friend truly cares for you; a friend is always there to share in your joy and pain; a friend is someone who has the best interest for you; one who always have your back.

And most importantly, your friend is your number one guidance and counselor; most of the decisions and actions you carryout, are influenced by your friends, especially if you're the type of person that likes pleasing others, at your own detriment. Most times, your friend's counsel to you is based on his or her own mindset or perspective of life. This is another reason why you ought to chose your friends wisely. Finally, I agree with the saying; "the circle of friends you keep today, would determine the kind of connection your children would have in the future."

Friendship carries power indeed! This power, if well channelled would bless you, if not, it'd destroy you so badly. The Ball is in your court, play wisely.
