INTRODCTION
Before now we were made to understand that parent
are responsible for almost 70% of the life children lives. But presently its
not so any more, now the way children live there lives have been split into five
major agent (from my view), parent 45%, peers 30%, environment 5%, school 10%
and church 10%. U might be wondering why does environment has d lowest
percentage, when it is suppose to be one of the highest; yes its true, it is
suppose to be one of the highest but it is not, this is because, children can
leave I'm the most corrupt environment and still have a better life, and some
other children can leave in the most secured and incorrupt environment and
still have a miserable life. This is because the peers has more influenced than
the environment. A child in a very good environment with wrong peers is worst
than a child in a corrupt environment with good peers. Taking myself as instance,
i grow up in Etche water front, Borikiri in Portharcourt River state. It is a
place where cultism is openly practice, not secretive like other places, a
place where crime rate is very high, yet I sailed through without been
initiated or involve in any crime. Its been God grace that the environment
couldn't catch up with me. But there is something I did, i surrendered myself
with people of same vision, who will want a better life as bad as bad as a
drowning man needs oxygen to survive. Therefore, the betterment of a child's
life depends on the decision of the child and the peers he hookup with.
Nevertheless, for a person to have a better
life or better future depends on how he/she sees a better future as i.e. what a
better future means to the person. If we go to the street and people what's a
better future? 90% we give reply's that are of the same view; money and material
wealth.
WHAT
IS A BETTER FUTURE?
The present commonly accepted meaning of a better
life is the material wealth more affluent life, a better future means the material
wealth more affluent near future regardless what that will cost the far future generations
survival and evolution conditions. Money and wealth is also involve in a better
future but they aren't the most desirable. Just as the bible say in
Proverbs 22:1; A Good name is rather to
be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold.
Those money and material wealth can be gotten illegally, can we still call that
a better future? A thieve who is wealthy, does that shows a better life?. Those
are the questions we should ask ourselves and that’s why i disagree with this
present commonly accepted definition.
A better future is a time ahead that lead human
into an endless survival through generation chain, with health, wealth and a
good reputation. This simply means that a better future is not a limited life,
it is a life that passes those wealth and good reputation to generation after
generations. A better life for a short period of time is not worth calling a
better future, a better futures passes to generation unborn.

NIGERIA CHILDREN MUST AVOID TO HAVE A BETTER FUTURE

STAY AWAY FROM TOXIC PEOPLE
People you spend most of your time with, add up
to who you become in the future. There are different kinds of people around you
who always spend time with the people who have inspired them in some or other way.
By spending more time with people who are more accomplished than you, you will get
more good things which make you a better person and it will help you to become successful.
Good things happen to people who sacrifice things
in their life. If you want, which you never had before, you must do what you’ve
never done before. It’s right to give up the right things so you can have a better
future. And importantly don’t let others define what success is but you. Stop being
“busy,” instead of start being ‘focused’. There is no matter how you look or from
where you come from, the concentration, focus and time you spent on learning is
all matters to make your future brighter. Give up all the above-mentioned things
and spend your time wisely, plan your goal, give 100% attention on it and achieve
your dream and enjoy your future.

THE UNHEALTHY LIFESTYLE
As popularly said ‘Health is wealth’ taking care
of your body must be your first priority. If you want to be successful in your life
or want to lead a better life or whatever, everything starts here. First take care
of your health which automatically takes care of your mind, following a healthy
balanced diet with adequate physical activity gives your good health.

UNWANTED EXCUSES
It is not about the opportunities you get, it
is all about how you use it and make your life better. Most of the successful people
first understand their responsibility and their strength; they don’t bother about
their weaknesses, starting point, and past failures. Understand your strength, don’t
allow your excuses to overlap your dream because excuses limit and prevent you from
growing professionally and personally. Think what is next and how to make your life
better.

UNNECESSARY MULTI-TASKING
“You will never reach your destination if you
stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.” by Winston S. Churchill. Don’t change
your path more frequently, choose one thing and focus on it completely, Successful
people know this; they usually choose one thing and improve themselves to achieve
in that path. And it is most important that before choosing the path, you have self
analysis yourself and decide on field which you are interested in and what you want
to become in life. Be fully present and committed to that one task and achieve it.
Your future is deciding on your present so plan your present perfectly to make your
future better.

AVOID DIVERSIONS
Some things can be controlled by us and some we
cannot but we should not get diverted to the things which we cannot change instead
you can modify it as per your requirement or need. Learn to differentiate the things,
focus on the ones which you can control and detach yourself from the things you
cannot control, and understand that sometimes, the things that you are able to

DON’T SAY ‘YES’ TO THINGS THAT DON’T
SUPPORT YOUR DREAMS
“He who would accomplish little must sacrifice
little; he who would achieve much must sacrifice much; he who would attain highly
must sacrifice greatly.” from James Allen is true. If you want to be successful
in the future you must sacrifice all unwanted things which are not useful. In order
to accomplish your goals, you have to learn to say ’NO’ to certain things, activities,
tasks, and demands even from your friends, family, and colleagues. Yes! You might
need to sacrifice a bit of instant gratification, but when your dreams come to fruition,
which is worth for lifetime.

DON’T BELIEVE IN THE “MAGIC BULLET”
Overnight success is a myth. To set a better future,
make small continual improvement every day which will be compounded as time passes
and surely give desired results. Plan for the future and at the same time focus
on the day in such a way that you should have improved at least 1% every day.
ROLES OF PARENT IN BUILDING A BETTER
FUTURE FOR CHILDREN
As written in the introduction, parents have
more percentage in the influence of a child's future more than any other agent.
Support from parents is crucial for students
success both academically and in personal lives. Parents must take active
interest and participation in the events of the lives of their children. From
their academic calendars to their friend’s circles, they must keep an eye for
every detail.
Failure and Success go hand in hand and the
role guardian’s play in their kid’s life shape them. Guardians act as problem
solvers lending their hands in difficult situations.
Some students are not good at grades but are
great at other skills, parents need to appreciate these skills rather than
considering their own children as an underachiever. They are strengths for
their kids when they need them during their bad times. Its not just about
keeping wealth for the children, its about building something more than wealth
in children i.e. values.
ROLES OF GOVERNMENT IN BUILD A BETTER
FUTURE FOR NIGERIA CHILDREN
Our government today is full of favoritism,
tribalism, and corruption. Whatever you achieve is now base on who u know or
how much you paid, its no longer base on intelligence, skill, or even
education. No jobs everywhere, you see certified and skilled medical personnel
teaching P.H.E in primary school, you see chartered Accountants working as
receptionist in hotels, we are suffering from underemployment all over the
country. What is our country turning into? If the youths are not skillful or
educated then the Government, we say we have no qualify youth to employ, every
year over millions of students graduate with good degree, equipped with good
skills yet no place to work.
If the Government can help to fully utilized the skills of Nigeria children and create good job opportunities for our graduates, then we will see how blessed this country is. God has bless this country so much with both natural resources and human resources but we devalue our own Products, saying they fake and not durable. Lets use innocents vehicle for instance, how many ministers are driving innocent cars? everyone needs BMW. Not that BMW is bad, but we should try to enrich our own, by so doing we can build a better future for Nigeria children. Even we citizens how many of us uses Nigeria made product? We all call them fake, its not helping. When we enrich our own product we bring development and good standard of living to our country. What is the essence of importing something that can be produce in Nigeria. Just as Winston Churchill will say " A nation who fails to honor its heroes will soon have no heroes to honor" the same apply to a nation who fails to honor its product will soon have no product to honor.
CONCLUSION:
If the government can't employ you, then you can employ the Government, you may be wondering how. Dangote employs government, Innocent employs government, and many others also employ government. Therefore lets all Nigeria children endeavor to build a better future with good reputation. Think like a manager, dress like a manager, walk like a manager, speak like a manager, act like a manager and be a manager.
